K-Indie Spotlight: 828
828 is a four member indie band from South Korea. The members include guitarist and main vocal Gangil (안강일), guitarist Hoon (전훈), bassist Junhyeok (양준혁), and drummer Minseung (김민승). They play shows across clubs and other small venues throughout the bustling music scene of Hongdae and Hapjeong in Seoul.

The band is able to put on amazing high energy performances. The members seem genuinely happy to be on stage and they like to interact with the audience to get them to sing along and enjoy the stages. If you are interested in bands then I suggest you check them out and if you ever have the chance to see them live they would love to see more fans at their shows.
After their shows they don’t hesitate to take some time to speak with their fans and sign things.
Hoon has revealed that he previously lived in America for high school so don’t be afraid to try to speak with him in English if you are afraid of your Korean sills. He will try to communicate in either language to get his point across.
The other members still like talking with their foreign fans, even if they aren’t fully able to communicate with them. They do take their time with their words and try to speak slower so that you are able to understand more which is something I really appreciate as a fan.
As an introduction to 828, here are my top five I recommend (all songs mentioned are linked to Spotify).
