K-indie spotlight: To More raw (투모로우)

The K-Indie scene is scattered with amazing artists that don’t get the same opportunities to shine as traditional K-Pop artists, though I dare say some of the bands have better stage presence and music than mainstream idols. In this new series of posts, I will be spotlighting some of my favorite indie bands. Lets take to the streets of Hongdae to discover our first artist spotlight: To More Raw. (투모로우).

To More Raw is an indie band that mostly plays shows in Hongdae, Seoul. You can usually find them performing at places such as Club FF, Prism Hall, Club On Air, and CJ Azit as well as other venues in the area.

Officially they are a three member band consisting of lead singer Hanum (한음), guitarist Yang Jun Hyeok (양준혁) and guitarist Kim Hyun Taek (김현택). Two other members join them during their live performances. The drummer is Gyeongseok (경석) and the last member is Choi Hoseung (최호승).

On Spotify you can find their songs “Trip”, “Day” and “Metropolis”. Their other songs are only performed live as of now. My personal favorite is “Trip” as well as an unreleased song “Will you be my”.

Their stage presence is so fun to watch. You can tell the members love to perform. Jun Hyeok is always smiling and likes to mess with the other members on stage adding to the band’s chemistry while performing. They are all amazing at playing their respective instruments and they have unique voices. When Hanum performs he reminds me of another artist I like, Keshi so I can’t help but love this band.

After they get through with a performance the band will gladly talk to fans and sign things. They are genuinely so nice and try their hardest to connect with their fans, even when their fans don’t speak the same language as them. They are always excited to see someone bring one of their albums to a show. If you’re lucky you might even score a set list or a guitar pick after the show.

If you’re ever in Seoul and To More Raw is performing you should definitely check them out, and if you aren’t in Korea then give them a listen on Spotify. You might just discover your new favorite band like I did.

To More Raw signed album

I was able to get my album signed after their performance at Club FF on May 23rd, 2025. The members were excited to see their album and were happy to sign, even personalizing it to my name.

If you want a copy of the “Trip” album for yourself you can get it here.
